01 The problem
Elevated storage is the heartbeat of a distribution system. Without reliable remote monitoring, operators find out about low levels from customer calls, and overflows from a wet street.
Elevated storage sets system pressure and holds the reserve for fire flow and peak demand. The tower's level decides when wells and pumps run, so it has to be known reliably, all the time.

How it works, stage by stage.
- Measure the level. A pressure sensor at the base of the tower converts water column to level.
- Report and alarm. Level goes to Whisker.io over encrypted cellular.
- Drive the pumps. Tower level tells wells and boosters when to run.
